Steadying the

After a lengthy collaborative engagement with our research partners, we ultimately identified their mobile app as the best place to focus our attention. We could do 3 things in support of the business strategy this way.

  1. Gave us a more focused narrative to begin building and testing. Rather than cherry picking features to test from the feature-abundant thick client, we could test a more wholistic experience of the mobile app.

  2. The interface alone could be reinvented, but backend work needed to prioritize performance improvements. This meant we had a foundation to build on, but not an empty lot. While that does mean more compromise, it also meant more grounded decision making.

  3. As a somewhat consolidated experience isolated in a mobile environment, we could introduce a brand new visual language in a sort of safe space. This release would ultimately drive our approach to redesigning the more robust thick client, as well as subsequent design efforts.
